WELCOME
Hello! My name is Vanessa. I moved to Chicago from London, UK in August 2023 as I accepted a tenure track position at SAIC. I wanted to create a space to document my tenure track experience and all things US academia including the visa process and the cultural shift between Britain and the US.
2024 Intentions
I intend to publish a few blogs in January reflecting on my first semester teaching in the US, particularly the differences Ive noticed in my institution to those that I have previously taught at.
While im interested in this blog ebing a space for me to articulate and think through the shift in my teaching pedagogy, I also might create a space to talk about my research (but we will see how I get on as I have an intense schedule for the spring semester).
